Singapore’s volunteerism rate stayed steady against a background of SARS and hard economic knocks. The findings of the biennial National Volunteerism Survey were released at the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Conference on 27 and 28 July, 2004. The study included 12 months of preparation prior to the start of field work between April and June 2004, straddling the start of Singapore’s face-off with SARS and the nation’s subsequent recovery.
