Barriers To Effective Volunteer Management (2007)

NVPC’s individual giving surveys over the years show that the proportion of former volunteers has been higher than the proportion of current volunteers. NVPC’s study of IPCs has found that lack of volunteer commitment is a top issue. The recently-launched Code of Governance also sets out the principle that charities should have human resource policies for volunteers. To help address these volunteer management issues, NVPC is releasing its first-ever study on barriers to effective volunteer management.
